potatoes next week for the first time since last June as apart from enough for a couple more meals I’ve used all I had stored.
This main crop Picasso, which was the largest potato I grew last year, is the last one. It’s on a 8 in/20 cm dia. plate to show the size.
Further to last Thursday’s post Perennials once this clump of white Primulas, which is along side the pond, has finished flowering I shall lift, split and replant it. Looking closely I think it will divide into at least four good size plants.
I had a plot potter yesterday but the ground is still far too soggy to do anything, and it’s damp again this morning. The spring equinox is on Wednesday after which I will start to sow a few seeds in pots at home. Looking at the forecast for the coming week it looks like being mainly dry with the temperature up to at least the middle teens C/60 F.
Have a good week, and take care!
I’ve not grown Picasso, but they look like great spuds! Have a good week. Fingers crossed for drier weather!

Nice looking baking potato 🥔. After all the media discussions on baking potatoes to be at their best, you will, no doubt, expertly bake yours,if that’s what it’s destined for.
Hope your weekend is a good one too Mr F. Xxxx

Nine months of home grown potatoes is amazing. Your white primula clump is a good size for division later. We have had lots of rain here in Kentucky too. The soil was too wet to work this past week.

That is certainly one hefty potato! You’ve had enough experience growing them to know what varieties do well for you. Hope things dry up enough for the projects you’ve planned.

You’ve done well to have enough potatoes stored to last until now. It won’t be long now until this year’s crop go in, I just wish the rain would hold off long enough to allow the ground to dry out, there’s still so much standing water about.
