The plot was soggy…

yesterday after overnight rain so all I did was cut back the stems on the three clumps of  Michaelmas daisies to about a foot then cover them with compost.   Once new growth appears in the spring I’ll cut the stems right back.

 

I’m not  plotting today, as it’s another cold, damp and windy day, so I’ll be settling down after lunch to start reading The Fair Botanists by Sara Sheridan, which is a novel set around the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh 1822.

It’s certainly been well rated on Goodreads and I’ll do a review here after I’ve read it.

    1. Ah, now l know what to do with my Michaelmas daisies! Rainy and chilly here too, went for a walk this morning, but not for long. This afternoon, jigsaw and hot chocolate for me xx

  1. I managed to get my compost out yesterday and did a load of general tidying and a bit of pruning of the fig tree. I really must get some Michaelmas daisies next year, I always mean to. The cover of that book is lovely, I hope it’s a good read, it sounds very promising. CJ xx
