Just another Sunday

There was a lot of heavy rain overnight on Wednesday so I wasn’t surprised to find that the plot was soggy the next morning, and there was water logging around the site.

Despite that I’ve been clearing up fallen leaves and weeding, and I also dug up the remaining sunflowers, with the stems going under the blackberry bush with the sweet corn stems.

Today is just another Sunday although I am a year older, but I don’t  celebrate it nowadays.  I spent the morning on the plot enjoying the sunshine, chatting with the robin and watching the bees on the white asters Twinkling Stars which are as good as they’ve ever been.

Take care, and have a good week!

  1. Do I pick up that you have a non celebration for another year, Mr F? If so, may I dip into your perambulations with a non congratulatory wish for what ever it is you don’t celebrate.

The Asters are lovely, such a nice clump of them too. Xxx

  2. Happy birthday! Your plot is looking lovely, despite it being autumn. Always so good to see flowers and bees this time of year. I am clinging on to the last of the cosmos here for the bees. The only ones that come into the house are the ones that break off. I shall try and grow more next year. CJ xx

  3. Happy birthday. I stopped marking mine some years ago, but think the way you spent your day, surrounded by nature, is a good celebration.

  4. Tending the plot is a perfectly satisfactory way of spending a birthday in my opinion. I didn’t realise that your birth date was so close to my sister’s (today), I believe you knew her as Isadora at BCUK.

  5. Sounds like a good day to not celebrate your birthday. These asters and sedum(?) look lovely, great to still have bees about. Unexpectedly mild and sunny here yesterday so my garden was buzzing! xx

  6. Even if you don’t celebrate officially, we still all wish you well. And, judging from the colors still gracing the plot, you’re moving forward and making progress as usual.
