There was a hard frost early on Friday which lingered well into the morning. I think that frosted flowers and plants look rather magical, as shown by these photos.
That’s crocosmia above and below is a pot marigold Flighty’s favourite along with a rose Pretty Lady.
The frost on the sedum heads was sparkling in the sunshine.
Yesterday morning was dry and dull so using the hand shears I rough cut all round the grass path edges. It’s a job that’s generally at the bottom of my to do list, but it was well worth doing as the compost heap is now topped with a thick layer of grass cuttings which will help keep it warm through the winter.
Take care, and have a good week!
Lovely photos Mike, keep warm! x

Sounds like knee pad grass shearing job. It is beautiful to see frosted plants, it’s how they soggily wilt when thawing that spoils the magic. It is great you obtained such nice photo shots.

I got the grass cut the other day as well, and it’s already sunk down nicely on the compost heap. Lovely frost photos, especially the rose. Hope you have a good week. CJ xx

The frost on plants does give a magical feel.
When reading about your grass clippings and disposal, I thought about your compost heap in terms of “and so to bed”!

Liz I’m glad you think so too. That’s a good way to think about it, I do sometimes refer to a grass duvet. xx
