A Sunday selection…

of a few of my favourite flowers on the plot over the past week or so. I hope that you like them as much as I do.

I was delighted to see that some white California poppies are flowering again.

I’m pretty sure that these are the variety Ivory Castle which are listed as being pure white, rather than Alba which are creamy-white.   I tend to get confused as I feel that they should be the other way round.

The cosmos are flowering profusely and I especially like this pale pink and white one.

Here’s another variation showing various shades of pink with a touch of white.

Unfortunately I don’t know the specific variety for these.

These are the front and back views of the aptly named sunflower Ring of Fire.

Take care, and have a good week!

I do like the creamy-looking California poppies. This was my first year growing the original orange ones. They are delightful. It is good to still have flowers going strong; the cosmos and sunflowers.

Beautiful, I do love the white California poppies. Your flowers are absolutely flawless at the moment. Lovely that the summer is going on a bit longer. I’m still waiting for tomatoes to ripen. CJ xx

Yes, I agree, I’d switch the names on the Californian poppies. How lovely they are though! Love that pink and white cosmos and now wishing I’d grown ring of fire!xxx

Every time you show those creamy poppies, I think I must get some seeds. And then promptly forget until the next time you post! How nice to have a great cosmos season.
