I had hoped…

to have dug out the compost heap by now but rainy and windy weather throughout the month has meant that it’s still top of my to do list.

Despite the ground conditions and adverse weather I’m pleased with what I have been able to do, such as yesterday when I weeded round the lavenders and pruned the raspberries cutting down any stems not showing any signs of new growth.

One morning last week I walked to the plot via the park as I hoped to see the pair of Egyptian Geese that appear to taken up residence there recently.  I saw them out on the playing fields among the gulls, too far away to take any photos.

Once the weather improves I’ll walk through there more often as there’s always plenty to look at such as these trees.  They’re a row of silver birches along with a hornbeam with a fan shaped canopy.

Have a good weekend!

It really hasn’t been the weather for doing much outdoors so it’s good that you’re so well on top of your jobs at the plot. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any Egyptian Geese, how lovely to have them take up residence in the park.

It looks like a lovely park, and how wonderful to have Egyptian geese there. I still have to empty my compost bin as well. I’m not in any hurry as I worry that all the rain here will wash the nutrients away before I’ve even planted. Hope you have a good weekend. CJ xx

Those narcissus certainly brighten up a dull day. Like you I’m also waiting for some good weather before emptying the compost heap.

Egyptian geese. Are they new to the UK?
This weather has really been a problem for garden work, but you seem to be on top of most of your plot chores.

I’m so behind with garden tasks – including starting up a new compost Hotbin which I’m very excited about – but I just can’t muster up the enthusiasm to be outside when it’s this cold and windy! I managed to trim the hedge last week but fruit trees need to be pruned so hoping the weather will calm down soon. Have a good weekend, Flighty – I think you may be doing more reading than plotting! x

How lovely having those geese in the park. The hornbeam does look lovely. Seems the weekend is going to be wild wet and windy…sighs…thank goodness for the greenhouse.xxx

What a lovely park that is! You really should walk there more often. I’d be happy to see that kind of geese too. They’re beautiful!
    Thanks and same to you!
