better weather this week and has now got a lot warmer. There was also a few hours of quite heavy rain on Tuesday afternoon which was welcome. Looking round the plot it’s a case of so far so good with everything, despite the frosty nights last week.
All the perennials are doing well and it won’t be long before the perennial cornflower (centaurea montana) starts flowering. The sedums won’t be flowering until the autumn but they have already formed this impressive looking mound.
I was surprised to see a few flowers on one of the strawberry plants but a closer look showed that they’ve been frosted as indicated by the blackened centres.
It looks like it’s going to be a sunny and warm Easter for a change so I’ll be making the most of it sowing flower seeds and generally pottering.

How lovely to still have daffodils flowering! I must make a note of Thalia for next year they seem a really good choice. And I love that ball of sedum on your plot, mine needs transplanting and is nowhere near that size. Enjoy the sunshine this Easter weekend! xx

Looking nice and verdant! How lucky you are to have had some rain. Our ground is cracking up already and whilst good weather for the holiday weekend is lovely, I hope that next weeks predictions for rain on Wednesday hold. Do you Chelsea chop your sedum to keep it from over-extending?

Allison hello, and thanks. We were indeed, and if it hadn’t I think the ground would be cracking here as well. I haven’t done in the past but it’s never grown this big so early so I might have to, mine you I’m always nervous about Chelsea chopping any plant. xx

The daffs have had a good year. Your Thalia is still looking lovely. Mine is still going strong too. It is early for the strawberries, mine are fruiting! Love the sedum mound.xxx
