It’s been a cold week…

with really hard frosts yesterday and today.

Sadly the early white crocuses Snow Bunting have suffered and some have already toppled over before flowering.

I hope that the later yellow ones Romance fare better.

As you can see the primroses have been well frosted.

Looking round the plot this morning I think that I saw the first rhubarb stem tips just starting to appear.

The forecast is showing that there may be some snow overnight tonight and remaining cold over the next few days.

Have a good weekend!

Poor flowers. Are we at least halfway through winter? I hope so. Keep warm.

What a shame those otherwise pretty white crocuses have suffered so because of the frost.
But glad to see your frosted primulas still looking their bests.
Hope you’d get milder weather soon!
    Thanks and same to you!

It has been cold. But not as bad as the Chicago ice vortex – a silver lining of sorts! I took some lovely photos of ice crystals this morning – I must get around to posting them. Keep warm.

Oh, what a shame about the crocuses but primroses are very hardy and will usually take a frosting. We’ve had a few days of frost and ice and we’re getting a few snow flurries today, though nothing to write home about. It’s cold out there though!

The frosted petals are very beautiful.. Once the temperatures improve I am sure you will see sprouting life again. As for your Primroses, they are definitely hardy. Xxx

  6. Yes, a shame about the crocuses but your primroses look ok and quite pretty with their frosty covering.
Stay warm in the cold weather 🙂

    All the best Jan

Oh, what a shame about your crocus, it’s the same here, everything is wilting. Here’s to the rest surviving and an end to the cold

Too bad the frost only makes the flowers look good now.

  9. Oh dear..poor flowers ! We had a one minute of snow flakes falling and then it stopped and the sun came out again here in Mullion Cornwall . …but it was the severe gales that we had a few days before that flattened my daffodils . ..still the Violets in the hedgerow are still o.k and very lovely 🙂 Summer will be here before you know it . Debbie 🙂
