A wintry week

It’s been bitterly cold this week and there was some snow late Tuesday afternoon.  This is what the plot, and other allotments, looked like yesterday morning.

I had dug out and sieved yet more compost from one of the communal wood chip bays on Monday and Tuesday as there’s not much else to do at present and it keeps me warm.  One morning  I was pleased to see the robin on the plot and several great tits flitting around on one of the adjacent plots.

Onion sets and seed potatoes should be on sale at the horticultural society trading shed on Sunday, so I guess that it’ll be somewhat busier than it has been recently.

Have a good weekend!

  6. You too. I’m busy working in the warm. ☕️

Looks the same here — light snow over everything and there is hardly any colour in your photos, which makes the scene look more bleak.
Hope the weather is better for the weekend selling potatoes and onion sets in the trading shed.

We’ve missed any snow that’s fallen this week but it’s still been very cold. It’s warmed up a bit yesterday and today but the temperature is set to drop again, I just wish it’d make up its mind.
