Cosmos, tomatoes and comfrey

Further to my recent post about the plot cosmos this one, which is well over five feet high, is now covered in flowers that are four inches across.

I think that it’s possibly the variety Gloria which I have grown in the past. It’s certainly one of the tallest with the biggest flowers that I’ve grown, and is rather impressive.

I’ve now picked all the tomatoes to ripen at home.  These ones were already on the windowsill and have now been joined by at least twice that amount.

Given that I only grew three each Gardener’s Delight and Golden Sunrise I’m surprised at just how many I ended up with.

It’s not that long ago that I cut the comfrey and added it to the compost heap.  Since then it’s regrown and I’ll be cutting it again sometime soon.

Over the past week the weather has been alternating between damp and dull then dry and sunny.  Thankfully it looks like staying cool, dry and sunny through the weekend and into next week.

Have a good weekend!

The cosmos does look impressive. Even more impressive are those tomatoes!
Good ole comfrey; it’s such a dependable herb and full of so many nutrients for the compost pile or liquid fertilizer.

Your tomatoes look to have done very well this year, all that sunshine must have agreed with them. Cosmos are such great flowers, they seem to go on and on.

I’ve not seen cosmos of that height. Almost as high as me! Impressive really. And such nice colour too.
What a nice and bountiful tomato harvest you have! Must be that you’ve cared for and fed them well.
    Thanks and same to you!

Fantastic tomatoes, well done you. And beautiful cosmos, I think it was a good year for them. Comfrey is such a good value plant isn’t it, mine has resprouted since being cut back as well. Glad to see all is going well. CJ xx

I’m amazed at how well cosmos do for you. Used to be my go-to annual here, but for some reason, just doesn’t thrive.
