Liz’s black walnut –
A couple of weeks ago here in Lexington, Kentucky I noticed that there were just remnants of the caterpillar tent that I mentioned and showed last month, seen here towards the top left of the picture, and they appear to have been eating the leaves.
The walnut pods are now starting to ripen then drop, and the leaves are turning yellow. Both are a sure sign that fall (autumn) is now well under way.
Mike’s medlars –
As you can see there are lots of fruit on these trees and the leaves are still mostly green.
There are a few yellow leaves, mostly hidden away, but I guess that’s due to a continuing lack of water. Some of the fruit are becoming lighter and beginning to soften slightly following which they’ll presumably start to drop.

Have a good weekend!
