A hot weekend

The temperature has reached 30 C/ 85 F this weekend which is way too high for me and needless to say I’ve not been plotting apart from a quick look round this morning.

I’m not really in the the mood to blog either so will make do with showing you the first of the gladioli to flower with this pale yellow Cha Cha and one of the sunflowers Musicbox.

Thankfully it looks like the temperature will drop back to the low 20’s C/70’s F for a few days from Tuesday, but there’s still no sign of any, now much needed, rain.

Have a good week!

Your high of 85F is our low in the eastern U.S. right now! I remember as a child growing up in England when the temps reached the high 70s we couldn’t sleep because of the heat!
The yellow gladiolus and sunflower are cheery reminders of summer days.

That is about our usual, day time temperature. We don’t like it too but are used to it. Hope the weather would be in your favour soon!
The flowers are lovely to see. Thanks for sharing pictures of them!
Thanks and hope you have a good week too!

Jade higher temperatures and humidity here often make the air pollution worse. Thanks, I hope so too. I’m glad you like the flowers. You’re welcome. xx

Yes, 85F sounds pretty hot for your neck o’ the woods. We are thankfully climbing down from that record-breaking 115F. Nice to see those fresh flower faces.

  6. I’m considering having a daily siesta, not sure what my employer will think. Early morning and late evening is the time for outdoor jobs! 29c today.

I sympathise, Flighty. This heat is getting to me a bit now too, and to Toby, who spends a lot of time draped over the coolest floor he can find! 😉

I know what you mean, I’m running out of steam as well. How blissful it will be when it finally rains. CJ xx

How ironic that we’re looking forward to temperatures dropping here in the UK! I’d be very glad of an overnight downpour to freshen things up. I’ve almost given up on the veg patch here, no tap = no water. Water butts empty. This heat is certainly challenging! Enjoy the cooler temps, even if just for a few days. xx

Such lovely shades of yellow! Oh…I’m with you, can’t cope with the heat, I struggle to do anything, even blog. Here’s to cooler temps and RAIN!xxx
