Sunny but soggy

In contrast to yesterday, when it was dull and rained for much of the day, today is sunny so I spent the morning pottering on a somewhat soggy plot.

Looking skyward

Butterfly on a cosmos

I was pleased to take this picture of a white butterfly on a pink cosmos.

Bee on a chicory flower

As usual there were plenty of bees around, like this one on a chicory flower.

Apart from some rain late tomorrow afternoon and early evening the forecast is looking reasonable through the weekend so hopefully it will have dried out enough for me to do some plotting.

Happy gardening, and have a good weekend!

How lovely to see the sunflowers against the blue sky and the pollinators on the cosmos and chicory. Good plotting this weekend!

  4. Huge sunflower fan, love the perspective you chose and how the flower shows against the gorgeous blue background…Well done.

  5. The marigolds and cosmos seeds you sent me have been a delight, thank you so much…

A chicory flower, how unusual, and very pretty. I went to the plot this morning and tried to take a photo of a lovely pale fluffy bee, but he flew off. The sunflower photo is fantastic, all that blue sky. Lots of rain here right now, so it will definitely be soggy down at my plot tomorrow. It’ll water the sprouts in nicely though. I’m wishing you a good weekend as well. CJ xx

  7. Now that’s a good reason to grow pink cosmos and not just white – so that you can spot white butterflies! Love the sunflower shot, such a wonderfully blue sky.

They have given good weather here for the weekend, I don’t hold out much hope. I’ve got bulbs to plant & the garden to weed. I’m expecting to get wet! Glad you were able to get to your plot though x

How delightful that first photo is, sunflowers set against a beautiful blue sky. What could be more perfect? Hope this weekend stays dry so we can all get a few outside jobs done.

Absolutely lovely, Flighty! All sunshiny and full of life, it’s hard to believe autumnal weather will soon be up on you. Good to see such pretty sunflowers against that blue sky.

What beautiful pictures! I enjoyed them all, like Nikki I’m surprised at that stunning blue sky and florals at this time of the year! I do hope we see a few more of both.xxx

It looks as if you had some nice sunny days but there must have been plenty of rain too, my garden is really wet, which is a relief, I was anxious that it would dry out whilst I was away.
