Pot marigolds Flighty’s favourites – 2013/2

Since the post Pot marigolds Flighty’s favourites – 2013/1 two weeks ago they’re now flowering all over the plot. These are on the strawberry patch.

The strawberry patch pot marigolds

Opening pot marigold flower budLooking at the flower buds it’s not always as easy as it looks to see what colour they’ll be.

Flowering pot marigoldAs they start to open you can then see the colour of the petals inside, which are sometimes different.

Once fully open that difference is not apparent unless you look at the front and back of the flower.

So far the only true single colour ones are all yellow.

just beautiful – i’m a bit devastated i was too ill to remember where i put your seeds (for safe keeping) and thus no Flighty’s faves on the blog. I’m so sad and sorry xxx They are such lovely shades x

Carrie thanks. Never mind you can share mine. I’ll send you some more for next year when I collect the seed from these . They sure are. xx

Glorious! I can’t wait until your marigolds are blooming here, too. And perhaps they will like it well enough to reseed as yours have happily done.

My annual seed and self-seeded garden flowers in my kitchen garden are not mature enough to shoot up flowers yet. I despair of seeing any colour from flowers this year. It is not warm enough in my view. Grass isn’t doing too badly, it needs regular cutting, the potatoes are starting to do something at the other end of the garden.
    Enjoy! xx

    • Flighty says:

Menhir I’m sure that you will see flowers in a few weeks time. Let’s hope that it warms up there. Grass always seems to need cutting regardless, and fingers crossed for the potatoes. Thanks. xx
