Compared to a month ago the hawthorn looks very different now that it’s in full leaf, as this photo taken a couple of weeks ago shows. Hopefully by this time next month it will have blossom on it.
I’ve found another oak tree on the plot. This one, barely 4″/10cm high, is between the rhubarb and the roadway. I like the colours of the tiny leaves. As it’s growing in an out of the way spot I’m happy to leave it be at present.
Apart from growing bigger there’s nothing to really see on the plum tree so I’ll show that next month.

I love it when the leaves comes out, almost within a day. When I was working, I always used to miss it and would look up one day and suddenly realise that the trees weren’t bare any more.

Love your oak tree. Some of the hawthorn in more sheltered areas around here is in bloom already. My garden is carpeted with the pink petals from next door’s cherry. Have a great weekend.

Janet I’ve seen some as well which is early, but not surprising in view of the the recent weather. It’s a pity that it doesn’t stay on the trees isn’t it.

It’s interesting how things spontaneously root and sprout. I’m working on rooting and assisting to sprout an aloe vera at the moment. The challenge is to keep the young aloe vera thriving – the healthy little centre leaf is fractionally growing – while we are travelling with it. 🙂

The next 48 hours will tell. Six hours or so of that time in the car boot is not ideal but, there is a secure corner for the plant to sit in without being tipped over. It survived it once in the last two weeks, so here goes again, fingers crossed.
