I mentioned in last Sunday’s post that my crocus are beginning to appear and on Monday, which was sunny, I took this photo.
I’m still waiting to get working on the plot but the sight of this first crocus flower and these snowdrops
nestling at the base of a tree out the back at home surely means that spring is on the way!
It’s a short post today as I’ve also done Time Team over on Sofa flying.
Have a good weekend, which looks like being rather wet and very windy here.

It’s very windy here too, I thought my windows were coming in last night. Would you believe that I haven’t seen any snowdrops or crocus yet this year. Perhaps I’m not looking hard enough.

The advantage when I lived down South for a few years, was I got Spring twice.
Once down South and six weeks later up North.
At present the Mahonia ‘Sweet Charity’ has bloomed since beginning Dec, defying all that has been thrown at her, the winter Jasmine also.
The buds have survived on the Camellia and also on the Magnolia so there is hope, even with a gale force wind howling round the house at this present moment.
So you photos cheered me up, once again. Thanks Flighty.

Thank goodness that little bulbs sprout to let us know Spring is indeed on its way. After seeing snowdrops and crocuses growing profusely on blogs such as yours, I crawled under the Japanese Maple and found the beginnings of the snowdrops, which I posted on my blog. I hope Spring is kind to them once they bloom. Crocus petals in particular are quite delicate and I like them to last as long as possible! Thanks for helping me find my snowdrops!

I thought you were being facetious until I saw the photos! Meanwhile, here in Montreal we received our worst winter storm of the year so far (I think we got about 20-25 cm). It’s actually quite lovely : -)

Doris I wouldn’t dare! Although I said that’s it’s on the way I feel that it may well be a while before it arrives as I have seen ice and snow here in April before now.

Yes, isn’t it brill to see the spring bulbs starting to flower? We’ve got snowdrops just flowering now and crocus are nearly there. Just a shame the weather’s been so lousy today…done nothing but rain.

It hasn’t been the best of weekends for gardening. Mine has had to wait. It’s been lovely though to see the emergence of snowdrops. Lovely photos Flighty. x
