Escape into nature…

is the cover title on next week’s Radio Times which shows a wonderful picture of a kingfisher.

Halcyon River Diaries is a new series starting on BBC1  Sunday at 6.10pm in which ex TV presenter Phillippa Forrester and her husband cameraman Charlie Hamilton James film wildlife such as ducks, otters and dragonflies on the stretch of river where they live.  This looks like ideal viewing for Sunday tea times over the next few weeks.

Springwatch makes a welcome return at the end of the month and I shall do a post about it nearer the time. Meanwhile next week sees three hour long special programmes on BBC2 at 8.00pm on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. They are respectively Signs of Change with Chris Packham, City Living with Simon King and High Seas with Gordon Buchanan.

I’ve no doubt that all three will be interesting and informative but living  in an urban area it’s the City Living one that I’ll particularly enjoy watching.

Have a good weekend!

Shame they don’t have more of these programmes in the winter when I won’t be outside in the garden. Thanks for the heads up will try and catch them.

I remember seeing photos of kingfishers for the first time. They are amazing, aren’t they? Good stuff ahead to watch, Flighty. Enjoy your weekend.

Nikki they’re wonderful birds and surprisingly small. I’ve only ever caught glimpes of them and would love to get a proper look at one!
      Thanks, you too! xx

It’s always good to learn more about nature so that it can be appreciated when you are out in it! Shows such as those you mentioned are great ways to increase awareness! I bet you’ll enjoy with with tea and biscuits 🙂
