Today and this year

Today is International Earth Day, which celebrates it’s 40th anniversary this year.

As Lynda wrote in her post last Monday it’s far more well known in America and Canada.

This year is the           International Year of Biodiversity and if you look at the website there are lots of ways that we can all get involved.

Veg Plotting mentions it in this post that she did last Friday.

Have a good weekend!

[Footnote – I’ve worked how to do a slideshow post but I need some time to sort out and caption the photos so it’ll probably be next week before it appears.]

I’ve seen lots of references to International Earth Day, so perhaps it’s becoming a little more well known here in the UK now. I think as gardeners, we’re well aware of how important biodiversity is, it’s getting those none gardeners to take it on board which is more tricky.

I first came across International Earth Day via a blog … an American blog funnily enough.
If any of your readers are interested, my friend Nick seems to know lots about it and has some very interesting posts!
