sunny morning today, although breezy and rather cool first thing.
I planted all the daffodils and narcissus that I mentioned on Sunday in one mixed group next to the Pretty Lady rose near the shed.
I’ve picked the last, still green, Golden Queen tomatoes which are now on the window sill at home where I hope they will ripen. The plants have been dug up then binned, and the area dug over.
There’s still plenty of colour to be seen thanks to the cosmos, Michaelmas daisies, nasturtiums, pot marigolds, sunflowers and sweet peas.

It looks like the weather is going to be rather unsettled over the next few days with some heavy rain at times so the only major job still to do, moving the strawberries, will have to wait a while. After that it’s just more digging, tidying up and weeding.
Have a good weekend.

We have quite severe winds forecast for here. If it weren’t that weather forecasts tend to be more accurate than they used to be, it would be hard to believe, it’s so sunny and blue-sky-ish this afternoon. (Though the trees are waggling round a bit.)
Esther hello, and welcome. My plot is exposed so I don’t like severe winds. Being a typical gardener I’m always checking the met. forecast.
I’ve bookmarked your blog and will take a look at it over the weekend. xx
We are experiencing similar weather ~ just a glorious and gorgeous autumn so far. Nice to see and hear you still have some colour on your allotment and it seems that you are on top of things as far as preparing for the upcoming seasons. I’m sure it won’t take you long to get the strawberries re-positioned when the weather cooperates. Here’s hoping for some ripening on the windowsill
Glo it’s been rather unsettled the past week or so but hopefully it will settle down again. I’m pleased that I’ve done so much, and hope to move the strawberries next week.
I hope so too! xx
We had a lovely but very breezy day here too. Still lots of colour from the dahlias and a few late marigolds and cosmos, but they look a lot tattier than your lovely display. Here’s hoping the forecasters got it wrong… x
Ellie these photos show the best as most are, like yours, rather tatty. xx
It’s surprisingly fulfilling see all the garden waste piling up, it’s all progress! It’s very quiet here tonight, if the forecasters are right it’s the calm before the storm. Lovely pics Flighty. Have a good weekend. x
Maggie it is, and my compost bin is now almost full. Thanks. You too. xx
Oh, yes, plenty of colour here! Your to-do list makes me smile — good gardening chores for a crisp fall day.
Nikki it’s always good to see some colour. Crisp, sunny days are always welcome as I like doing gardening chores when it’s like that. xx
Yes, isn’t it a shame we can’t turn on Crisp Sunny before we head out to our gardens
Nikki that sounds like a good idea. xx
Have a good week-end too Flighty!
Doris thanks, you too. xx
Your plot must look lovely with all that late colour
Enjoy your weekend.
Mo it is, but there’s a lot of bare ground as well. Thanks, you too. xx
Your tomatoes should ripen ok on the windowsills, loads of mine have turned now and are being gobbled up, they were definitely worth the wait. Nice to see that you’ve still got plenty of colour on the plot. Hope the weather isn’t too bad over the weekend so that we can all get some gardening done.
Jo they’re beginning to look lighter already. Yes, it’s always welcome at this time of year.
It looks like it’ll be mid week before I’m plotting again. xx
I have tulip bulbs to plant, though before that happens I need to do some drastic weeding. Time to feed the compost bin for autumn I think.
Joanne that’s what I had to do before planting my bulbs. I’ve been adding lots to the compost heap. xx
The sunshine is most welcome isn’t it. Brings out all the colours on your plot.
Annie it sure is, and makes such a difference. xx
My! You are getting on with all your jobs. I’m lagging behind as it’s permanently raining here….
My cosmos and marigolds are still doing well too!
Have a lovely weekend, hope you have reasonable weather.xxxxx
Snowbird I was, but I’ve not done much in the past week or so. I hope that you get better weather and catch up
They’re both lovely flowers, and among my favourites.
Thanks, you too. xx
Looking forward to seeing the outcome of all your work next spring. Have a good weekend.
Elaine you and me both. Thanks, you too. xx
So many beautiful flowers still going strong!
Janet I had a good look at them all this morning, and took some photos. xx
